2- Drilling Liner to Provide Bigger Production Conduit
The operation is sidetracking from 7’’ 29# base casing, and prefer to have 5-1/2’’ minimum open size to optimize production conduit. Following conventional method, after running 5-1/2’’ liner in the sidetrack section, then the next open hole size can only by ~4-1/2’’, which will jeopardize the production rate.
Use 5-1/2’’ expandable system to case off the sidetrack section form the 7’’ base casing, and the 5-1/2’’ expandable will provide 5-1/2’’ drift ID, which will get the best fluid conduit down hole and achieved the required production rate.

3- Drilling Liner to Provide Bigger Production Conduit
The producer has old perforation that is no longer required due to high water cut, need to isolate the old perforation permanently in the 5-1/2’’ base casing while keep maximum wellbore ID.
Use 4-1/4’’ expandable system as a casing patch to isolate the old perforation, avoided un-reliable cement squeeze operation or fragile corrugated pipe system.

4- Repair Damaged Section Caused by Drilling Operation
The 9-5/8 base casing of a new well was worn out by the long 8-1/2’’ drilling operation, a caliper log showed the worn out section only have 50-60% of the wall thickness left, this section need to be reinforced before the well put into production.
After 7’’ production casing was run, the worn out section was patched off with a 7-5/8 x 9-5/8’’ casing patch, and the well was put into production without HSE concerns.
